Hugo Hernandez No Longer Registered with MML Investors

Hugo Hernandez (CRD #: 6446187), a previously registered broker with MML Investors Services, is the subject of an investor dispute. This is according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on August 19, 2024. Keep reading if you have questions regarding his alleged conduct. 

Employment Separation After Allegations 

On July 16, 2024, MML Investors Services fired Hugo Hernandez following allegations that he engaged in prohibited loans with clients and potential clients. He also allegedly participated in undisclosed outside business activities and an unapproved private securities transaction. 

Loans Between Brokers and Clients 

FINRA Rule 3240 describes the limited circumstances under which brokers may borrow from or lend to clients, such as loans between immediate family members.

Outside Business and Selling Away

FINRA Rule 3270 requires brokers to inform their firm of any outside business activities or any investments sold away from the firm. The brokerage firm may prohibit the activity if the firm believes the proposed activity may compromise the broker’s duties. Firms may also require brokers to seek approval of any outside business.

Private Securities Transactions 

FINRA Rule 3280 requires brokers to provide written notice to their firm before engaging in private securities transactions.
