Tadas Petkevicius is the Subject of a Third VUL Dispute

Tadas Petkevicius (CRD #: 1854727), a broker registered with MML Investors Services, is the subject of an investor dispute. This is according to his BrokerCheck record, accessed on July 24, 2024. Keep reading if you have questions regarding his alleged conduct. 

Investor Allegations 

On May 20, 2024, an investor alleged that Tadas Petkevicius did not make him aware that the waiver of a premium feature on a VUL policy would only cover premiums for a five-year period. He alleges that his original policy had no such limits. 

This dispute was denied by the firm, but investors should know that firms can deny disputes without any external review. Investors can still recover funds following a denial. 

There are two other denied disputes on Tadas Petkevicius’ record that allege he misrepresented VULs. 

VULs

Variable Universal Life insurance policies (VULs) have two major features: a tax-free death benefit for beneficiaries and the investment of investors’ premiums. Because the value of a VUL policy depends on the performance of these investments, it’s not guaranteed to increase in value over time. Additionally, you’ll lose a VUL’s tax benefits if it lapses.

Misrepresentation 

FINRA Rule 2020 prohibits the use of deceptive, manipulative, and otherwise fraudulent methods to influence the purchase and sale of securities. The misrepresentation or omission of material facts violates this rule.
